Opportunity: Foreign Trade
While repairing our election process is the start, there are more opportunities for improvement in the Secretary of State's office. The Secretary of State is responsible for advancing the cause of Nebraska businesses. One way of doing so is by way of trade missions.
Many parts of the world's food supply is in turmoil for various reasons including war and drought. These current events like in Ukraine limit agricultural trade to many vital areas globally - particularly grain and wheat production. The current Secretary of State has not seized the opportunity nor has he taken a proactive approach to exploring new trade partners caught in this consequential crossfire. Nebraska has a prime opportunity to step to the forefront and become an even greater leader in agricultural exports to fulfill the global needs affected by this geopolitical debacle.
As your next Secretary of State, I will be an advocate for our farmers and they will win! This fall, key markets will be facing food shortage issues around the world due to agricultural exports being bottlenecked from various reasons. I am prepared to step up and lead for Nebraska, seizing those opportunities for our great state's producers, and helping those countries avoid impending environments of starvation.
I am committed to not sitting idle, but acting upon key opportunities that present themselves to expand export opportunities for Nebraskans.
