An Open Letter to My Fellow Nebraskans

My policies are completely non-partisan, but let me tell you what they are and you can judge for yourself.

I'm running on election integrity and using the bully pulpit to defend our rights.

I quote from our founding document, the Declaration:

1) All men are created equal. Not some men are created to be serfs and servants, and others are created to be overlords and oligarchs. No. All men are created equal. Ours is a government of laws, not arbitrary, tyrannical mandates. Abe Lincoln said, "No man is good enough to govern another without the other's consent."

2) We are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable, liberty, the pursuit of happiness. Endowed with these rights by our *Creator, not our government, and not the Constitution. The Constitution only affirms our God-given rights.

3) Governments are instituted among men (mankind) to secure our rights, not to take them away.

4) Governments derive their just power from the consent of the governed.

And then from our NE State Constitution:

These rights shall not be denied by the state or any subdivision thereof.

Every elected official takes an oath to support that Constitution and defend our rights. But very few politicians follow through. And many do worse than not following through. They use their office to deny and infringe upon our rights. I will not let that happen. I will use the bully pulpit on behalf of my fellow Nebraskans to fight against corruption, and I will secure our elective franchise so that they have the voice they think they have, in this great system we call government of, by, and for the people.

The elective franchise (per art. 1 sec 1 of our State Constitution) is the ultimate defense that We the People have against tyranny (the stealing of our rights), barring taking up arms. The elective franchise is our means of self-government. It is how We the People give our consent.

If that franchise is compromised in some way, then We the People do not have the control we think we have.

An elective franchise without transparency, integrity, and security is not an elective franchise. It is a charade. A scam. Designed to make us think we have a voice when we don't.

I will bring integrity to the elective franchise by bringing transparency to every step in the process (with one one knows who you are voting for but you). An audit will be built into the process so that every citizen can verify the results for themselves.

Election integrity is a national security issue. Compromising elections is often how one nation takes another nation down (from within or without), in the modern era. It is how our enemies, both foreign and domestic, lie to us. Our election infrastructure is critical infrastructure and is subject to attack like anything else is.
